Back in Action!

It's kind of weird- I feel like I have been blogging SO much lately that I needed to take a hiatus for awhile. Okay, actually it's more like the fact that I have taken a summer break from our blog, and after many comments to solidify that, (threats, sarcasm aplenty...) I decided I should write a little something to try and begin the catch up that looms in front of me...

Not like we have much to catch up on, but I'll see what I can come up with :)

This summer has been pretty busy for us, although I cannot think of one single big adventure we had planned or executed. Rowen is almost 10 1/2 months old, so much of the summer was spent watching him grow into the cute little guy he is today and watching his personality grow more and more. About two weeks ago he started to crawl, so he can check that one off of his to-do list. He also got his two bottom teeth last month, so he is also no longer a toothless wonder. He does seem to be a little slower on making some of his milestones, but I am not complaining. He seems to be pretty content and mellow, so hopefully his personality will continue to grow and develop more along that branch.

In June, Annie, Missi, and I all went to Austin to visit Amber-Rose. What an amazing time to experience the richness of friendship and laughter. Amber-Rose showed us a great time around Austin, followed by a lot of boating, hot tubbing, eating and just hanging out. I am definitely looking forward to Girls' Weekend '08, although next year, we might have a different element attached to it...

The reason next year might be a little different is because Craig and I are expecting again! May 1, 2008 as of right now. A surprise (obviously we KNOW how babies are made, so not a surprise in that manner, but more in the timing of it all) but we are excited and can't wait to meet the newest little Cartmill. I feel like it is a girl, and we should be able to find out right before Christmas, so I will keep you informed (well, as much as possible!) to all that develops with that news. I have my first Dr's appointment on September 20th, so hopefully all will look good when we go in. I am a little nervous, as things did not end quite like I expected them to with Rowen, but we have an amazing God and I trust He will protect both of us, even if it doesn't go as smoothly as I have imagined.

In other news, Craig has applied for a manager position with the bank, so he should hear sometime this week whether he got the job or not. It would be a bit of a drive for him, but I think a good opportunity for him. Assuming I post another blog update sooner that three months from now, I will let you know when we hear something.

Well, that's all I have for now, hopefully that will tide you over for a few days! I will end with some of Rowen's 9 month pictures that Bethany took- enjoy!

Good to hear from you again Mauria... I was beginning to think you forgot about your blog!
Glad you guys had a good summer and wow- CONGRATULATIONS!!!! How exciting about the new baby! What a challenge to have them so close together, but how fun! I hope you can keep us up to date on that adventure.

I saw your Rowen pictures on Bethany's blog and they are gorgeous. You have an adorable little boy! Hope to see you guys sometime while we're here in town! Take care!

So here I was, you know, giving your blog the ol' "courtesy check" but not really getting my hopes up and planning to next link to click. And then! What to my wondering eyes!! An update!! And a several paragraph one at that! Well, you have made my day...I'm sitting here feeling strangely giddy...all my blog jumping this afternoon has been well worth it. Even though the blog entry did not entail any new information for me (don't get me wrong - I am NOT complaining, my friend) I still managed to pour over it and pretend it was like nothing I'd ever heard before. :) Love you! p/s That should keep me quiet for a good month or so (you know, no "sarcasam" or "threats" anyway). ;)
