Yes, I am a total slacker...

Well, it has only been 2 and a half months this time since I posted! :) I was telling someone last night my blog is either going to turn into a seasonally updated blog or perhaps even a bi-annual blog. Well, enough about that!
The latest and greatest with us...drum roll not necessary. We are having another BOY!! At first I must admit I was surprised and a little sad, but the more I think about it, for our family it is going to be the perfect combination. We would really like to have three, so maybe next time we will have a girl, and if not, I would be just as delighted to complete a quiver full of boys! And, that would mean no Hannah Montana concerts or movies for us, so that would be okay by me. We are stuck between Hudson James and Brenton James ( I am leaning toward Hudson, but I don't think Craig is sold yet). Any thoughts or suggestions? Someone mentioned the name Griffin at Annie's Superbowl Party last Sunday and I liked that too, so we'll see. We'll probably just end up going to the hospital armed with a few and see what sticks. Rowen wasn't named for a few days anyway, so why should this kid be any different?! And in other pregnancy news- I don't have gestational diabetes this time around which I am so thrilled and thankful for! My hard work or watching my weight and working out had paid off and I couldn't be more delighted. That means I will actually be able to eat dessert at my shower on the 16th that Bethany is so graciously throwing for me at the RW Community Center. I have had a rather complicated-free pregnancy (hopefully I am not jinxing myself right now!) and we are also able to go to Hawaii March 3rd-7th. I can't wait to see actual sunshine instead of the liquid version we see around here. Craig and I are doing a "spa day" as our featured activity, courtesy of WAMU, so that should be pretty much awesome. Even though I do not feel enormous yet, I am comforted to know we will be in the land of large Hawaiian women and mumus. I even found a steal-of-a-deal on a maternity swimsuit at Motherhood for $14.98. As Joel Olstein would say, it must be the FAVOR OF GOD...(jk, he really annoys me...)
In other exciting news, Craig came home last week from his manager's meeting to tell me that his boss wanted him to move to the Beaverton Town Square Fred Meyer branch. Although it is open on Saturdays, the commute will be SOOOO much better, we will save a TON on gas, and it will be nice to have Craig only 10 minutes away, especially as baby Cartmill's due date approaches and for the summetime so we can even actually plan to do stuff in the evenings. What an unexpected blessing! He starts there the week we get back from Hawaii.
Sadly, any and all of you reading this probably already know this information, but I will allow it to be a courtesy update nonetheless.
I haven't scanned my 24 week ultrasound pics into the computer yet, but once I do, I will post them. I have another ultrasound at 35 weeks to check on my old friend the placenta, so pray that that goes well and there will be no c-sections in my future! I will leave you with a few of Rowen's 12/13 month pics, courtesy of the great Bethany F Photography... (okay, blogger is being lame, so I will have to post them later...)

See, Maur, all you have to do is wait months between postings and you get all kinds of fun comments!

Good to talk to you, I'm glad for another blog update, and I like all your names. There's a boy in Samuel's class named Griffin, but he goes by Griffey. Cute name.

I can't believe I am JUST NOW finding out about this Cartmill Clan blog. I can't wait to see what I have been missing. Thanks for holding out on me Mauria ... you stinker. It's funny because even though I know all of this stuff already, it is still so fun to read it. Plus, I just love making blog comments. OK, I admit it, I am a blog-aholic. I never used to be, it's just a recent thing (lets see, about 6 weeks now). It is a serious side effect of having a baby. I now must know every single detail of other people's babies and their pregnancies and what they had for lunch that day. Well, I won't get the lunch detail from you, miss seasonal blogger, but I still love anything you write. :) Jessica
PS: I love the nickname Griffey, that is too cute

Like Annie, I am tired of checking this blog but getting no rewards, so I am going to post an update myself. Here is what is going on in the Cartmill clan via the nosy neighbor.

1. Craig and Mauria had a relaxing time in Maui thanks to WaMu.
2. Mauria is finally starting to feel better from her month long sinus infection, yuck.
3. Rowen is walking!!! He started when they were in Hawaii (of course). He had a lot of fun with his grandparents, but he was very happy once mommy and daddy were home.
4. There is another name on the table for baby Cartmill ... Everett. So cute. They are going to wait to meet him to decide the official name verdict.
5. Mauria hosted Bethany's shower this weekend. They are both getting so close to meeting babies #2.
6. WaMu gave the Cartmill's an ipod touch. Mauria was going to get to keep it, until Craig (aka Gollum) discovered the magical powers of "my precious," and stole it away from his very pregnant wife. OK, Mauria gladly sacrificed it to her hubby, but she wants an even cooler ipod for her birthday, and better get it!
7. The crib arrived! It looks great. Of course, the day it came Mauria wanted to wash and set up all the bedding (nesting!), and the dryer broke. Turns out it wasn't the dryer but the outlet, so she had to have a dryer guy come and an electrician come. Thankfully she has such great neighbors who have a dryer for her to use. We only charged her $2 a minute ... just kidding.
8. The cartmills finally got a mac! It is awesome. They have no excuse for not using it to post on their blog.

There are some Cartmill tidbits for you all to enjoy. I am not responsible for the accuracy of these statements ... they are all through the filter of the nosy neighbor lens. ~ Jessica
